Mile Markers - Marking the passing of members of the club during 2011.

Long time member Zach Brinkerhoff passed away May 22, 2011.  Zach was well known by club members having hosted our Christmas party for many years amid his collection of fine cars.  He will be missed.

The Colorado region has lost two more members recently.  Region President Ron Damiana had this to say:   Tom Moretti passed away on June 21 after a sort bout with lung cancer.  He was 71.  I met Tom on a Caravan through Tony Ficco several years ago.  We all sure had some good times and a lot of laughs on Caravans driving our cars and going to dinner.  Tom had an endearing "Chicago salty" way about him that you understood once you got to know him.

Tom ran a successful carpet company for over 40 years, but his real love was Packards.  He was a renowned authority on many classic automobiles as well.  He personally restored and won no less than five first place winners at Pebble Beach, all Packards, of course, quite a feat going up against professional restorers.  His was a labor of love.  He also loved his family, especially his buddy, his young grandson.

Hal Bjorklund passed way June 30th after just a few months of with brain cancer.  Hal was instrumental in inventing the car remote device and had a company that developed them.  He was a member of our local region and had us to his beautiful home for refreshements and a tour of his home and garage.  He was an Auburn and Cord guy and won best Auburn boat tail in Auburn a few years ago.  Most of all Hal was a great guy who would go out of his way to help you if you needed something.  We had some good times in Auburn with him and the Ficco brothers and Davis and Lorraine Mccann.  Hal, we will be toasting you this year in Auburn.

All of these gentlemen will be missed, but it brings a smile to your face having known and in remembering them.
